About this location
Coonamble is the nearest town to Pilliga West State Forest, in the New England Tablelands. The forest is declared public hunting land in New South Wales, open seven days a week and free to hunt with a current NSW Restricted (R) Licence once you have completed an online booking.
Hunters can pursue feral pigs, feral goats and rabbits and hares using firearms, bows and dogs, and night-time pig hunting is permitted. Pilliga West is shared public land, used by other members of the public as well as hunters, so check the current forest status and any closures before you travel there.
