Free hunting land, minus the paperwork
We'll apply for your hunting permit for you.
Australia has millions of acres of free public hunting land. The land is free, the permit is free, and the government form is where most hunters give up: a licence number you have to go and find, a reserve code nobody explains, and a session that times out while you look for it.
Give us your details once. For a flat $49, we prepare and lodge the application with the issuing authority and tell you what they say.
$49 service fee · Refunded if we can't lodge it · You can always apply yourself for free
We are not a government agency. The permits below are issued by state authorities, and every one of them can be applied for directly, by you, for free - each permit links to the authority's own form. The $49 you pay here is our fee for preparing and lodging the application on your behalf. It is not a government charge, and it does not buy an approval.
How it works
You fill in one form
Five minutes, once. The same details every state form asks for, in plain English, on a page that doesn't time out.
We lodge it for you
We prepare the application and submit it to the issuing authority on your behalf, and send you their reference.
You get the decision
The moment the authority comes back, so do we - by email, with your permit reference on your own tracking page.
What we can lodge
Free-to-apply public land permits, across the states that declare public hunting land. Each one lists what you must already hold: we fill in forms, we don't manufacture eligibility.
NSW
NSW public land hunting booking
Issued by NSW DPI Hunting
Written permission to hunt a declared NSW state forest, booked through DPI.
The booking itself is free. It requires a current NSW Restricted (R) Game Hunting Licence, which NSW DPI charges for separately - we cannot buy one for you.
VIC
Victorian public land hunting registration
Issued by Game Management Authority
Registration to hunt Victoria's declared public hunting areas and state forests.
Access to Victoria's public hunting areas is free. Your Game Licence is issued and renewed by the GMA, who charge for it separately.
NT
NT waterfowl hunting permit
Issued by NT Parks and Wildlife
Magpie geese and duck on the four declared reserves near Darwin, in the declared season.
This permit is free. The Northern Territory charges nothing for it - our fee is for preparing and lodging the application.
NT
NT feral pig hunting permit
Issued by NT Parks and Wildlife
Year-round feral pig hunting at Shoal Bay Coastal Reserve and Harrison Dam.
This permit is free. The Northern Territory charges nothing for it - our fee is for preparing and lodging the application.

Straight answers
Isn't the permit free? What am I paying $49 for?
The permit is free, and you can absolutely apply for it yourself at no cost - every permit on this page links straight to the authority's own form. The $49 is our fee for doing the work: reading the current requirements, preparing the application correctly, lodging it, and chasing the outcome. You are paying us for our time, not paying a government charge.
Are you the government?
No. Hunting Properties Australia is a private company. We are not a government agency, we are not endorsed by one, and we have no say in whether your permit is granted. We fill in the form and lodge it; the decision belongs entirely to the issuing authority.
What if my application is refused?
The service fee buys the lodgement, not the outcome, so a refusal by the authority is not refunded - but we'll tell you exactly why they refused it and what would need to change. If we can't lodge your application at all, you get the whole fee back.
Do I still need my own licence?
Yes. We can only apply for what you are already entitled to hold. Where a permit requires a current firearms licence or a state game licence, you need to hold it before we lodge - we can't buy one for you, and the authority will refuse an application without it.
How long does it take?
We lodge within two business days of your payment. After that it is the authority's timeline, which is usually a few days to a couple of weeks depending on the state and the time of year.
What do you do with my details?
They go on your permit application and nowhere else. Your date of birth, home address and licence number are encrypted before they are stored, and we never sell or share them. See our privacy policy for the full detail.
